Do you have a favorable opinion of Benjamin Netanyahu?
Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech resonated with many political conservatives, but perhaps even more so with those of us who believe that God will still keep the promises he made to literal ethnic Israel. Of course many people respect Netanyahu and do not believe those promises are still valid. So this is about our opinion of Netanyahu, no matter how we got to that opinion.

I voted the first option. I think he is a great leader.
Probably need a voting option entitled “I don’t know enough to have an opinion.” My suspicion is what Americans really know about Netanyahu is that he gave a speech and doesn’t appear to get along with Obama. That of course is good enough for some to think him great. After all, there seem to be a lot of people that think Putin is great too because he bullies Obama a bit. I do know that Israel doesn’t seem to fawn over him like US conservatives do. His approval rating in Israel where they actually watch him lead is considerably worse than Obama’s. Maybe they will trade him for Obama.
Greg, I hope we can avoid making this into another “Obama is just misunderstood” thread but Obama’s approval ratings in Israel have not exactly been great. At one point they were 4%. And the things that the Israeli’s approve of in his administration are sometimes things that conservatives often reject like drone strikes. In other words comparing the Israeli populace and the U.S. populace is not even close to a one to one.
I should not have even mentioned Obama if that is going to derail things. Personally, I am not sure why we should care what Israel thinks of Obama. I certainly don’t. This is about Netanyahu. My point is that people in the US seem to be a little to influenced by good speeches. What do they really know at Netanyahu? My point was maybe we should ask the Israelis since they actually watch him in action and they are to put it mildly, lukewarm.
Israel is a good ally for the US yes. We should support them. On the other hand, they are like too many of our allies: always there when they need us. And we should remember that the speech Netanyahu gave was not for our benefit. It was for Israel’s benefit and for his own political benefit.
I guess it hard for me to speculate what the American people know about Netanyahu. I hope they are judging him for more than just his speeches.

I have been a fan for years, and glad when he became PM again.
