"There is no third way. A church will either believe and teach that same-sex behaviors and relationships are sinful, or it will affirm them"

There is no third way. A church will either accept government benefits or it will reject it. (Because coming soon 501(c)(3) will be linked to the “civil rights” of the gay agenda)

To quote Bob Dylan: “You don’t need a weatherman. To know which way the wind blows”

In not too many days hence, it will not be difficult to distinguish between the true church and the false church, between those who reject the text and those who affirm it.

That, I think, will be a good thing.

I don’t know. Do you expect Islam, Roman Catholicism, and Latter-Day Saints to change their positions on this issue?

Islam and Latter Day Saints already reject the text of the Bible, so were not included in the “true church” in my comment. Roman Catholicism, while not rejecting the text to the same degree as the others, would not be considered as part of the “true church” in my comment either.

I was referring primarily to churches (as in this story) who while professing to affirm the text, show that they do not by their support of homosexuality.

p.s. (and only indirectly related to the topic). I am constantly amazed (and saddened) when I read comments on FB, by folks who profess to be followers of Christ, in support of false teachers and their false teaching. A young woman recently professed support for another young woman who was paying her way through college by working as a stripper. The professing Christian young woman defended the stripper by saying that at least she wasn’t incurring college debt. I expect better from those who profess to be followers of Christ.

I take your point. At the same time, my point is there can be a lot of “traditionalist” types who are religious or claim a form of Christianity and who might continue to oppose homosexuality but be off on the Gospel. One’s position on this issue will be a more helpful determining factor, but not necessarily the make-or-break.

I agree

Facebook provides a window into the heart of many a professing Christian. Sadly, there are empty convictions inside most of those.
