Is Obama setting up two-prong Constitutional crisis?

Hear me now… this man is the Antichrist. If we do not stop him, he will lead us into the final war this country will ever see.

If he is the Antichrist, how can we stop him?

Cor meum tibi offero Domine prompte et sincere. ~ John Calvin

The Left Behind books say we can stop him by joining his staff and trying to find out his plans, then letting others know about it.

No, but seriously though…

Isn’t that like saying “The antichrist will appear because it is prophesied in Scripture, therefore it doesn’t matter who we vote for during the elections.”

Christian, the antichrist is allegedly able to deceive the world…how are you not deceived by him? Or maybe, the fact that we don’t believe you demonstrates that he has deceived us and he actually is the antichrist!!?

May Christ Be Magnified - Philippians 1:20 Todd Bowditch

Discussions like this are why I’m leaning away from being dispensational. Unfortunately, this kind of discussion happens all to frequently in dispensational churches. The latest headlines stir up conspiracy theories and doomsday predictions. Sarah Palin is considered the next Esther… Obama is the antichrist… Barcodes are the sign of the beast… etc, etc, ad nauseam.

There will no doubt be a lot of surprised dispensationalists when they find themselves in the midst of the tribulation period… :)

The Scriptures do not say the everyone will be deceived. Only that a great many will- mainly those who belong to the world. There will be many who see through his lies and recognize him as the antichrist. That is why the scriptures say that people will be given a choice, either to accept the mark of the beast, or to lose their lives. They also teach us that in the last days there will be violence and blood shed like there never was since the foundation of the world, but for the sake of the elect, God will shorten those days of persecution.

*Also, in case you didn’t get my sarcasm, I was joking when I referenced the Left Behind books. I do not believe in a secret rapture. I do not find evidence for that in Scripture. I believe those who are alive during the time the Antichrist arises, will experience persecutions and trials that have not been seen before in the history of man.

I don’t understand this fascination that Christians have with antichrist spotting. If the rapture is next, then it shouldn’t matter to us anyway. I think it’s downright silly to go about proclaiming that any one person is the Antichrist until God reveals him to the nations. I have a hard time believing that President Obama is the Antichrist, and I’m no fan of his. Even if he WAS the antichrist - what are you going to do or say about it? Does that give us liberty to disobey him?

Do the work, brothers, and let God deal with whomever is cursed to be the antichrist.

"Our task today is to tell people — who no longer know what sin is...no longer see themselves as sinners, and no longer have room for these categories — that Christ died for sins of which they do not think they’re guilty." - David Wells

Jay, this topic is not silly. God would not have spent so much time warning us about the antichrist and about the end time tribulation, and about staying alert for his return, if it was a silly topic.

You assume that there is only one eschatological viewpoint, the one in which the secret rapture occurs before the arrival of the antichrist. But if you hold to the view that there is no secret rapture, and that the church will witness the arrival of the antichrist and experience the tribulation, then this topic is of upmost importance, as it will actually affect us.

It seems like this and the previous administration wish to remake the Arab world one country (war) at a time.

Reminder of the Ishmael prophecy - Genesis 16:11-12:

“Behold, you are with child,
And you shall bear a son.
You shall call his name Ishmael,
Because the Lord has heard your affliction.
He shall be a wild man;
His hand shall be against every man,
And every man’s hand against him.
And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.”
