In Romans 6 we see Paul argue against continuing in sin on the basis of our position in Christ, not on the basis of what our sin might say to an unsaved world. Wells’ statement betrays an Arminian outlook on the Gospel. Continuing in sin is unacceptable but it does no genuine damage to Christian faith because of God’s soveriengty.
