Shaynus: “I’m pretty sure that the guys behind this effort would be more than pleased to find a proverbs 31 woman in a Victoria’s Secret model’s body.”
I have already stated that some guys like bigger girls, and I couldn’t care less. That is what they like and are welcome to it. I never said the VS models were what a wife needed to be. What VS sells is half right about sexiness, namely that a woman should want to desire her man and be desirous for her man. They are not a Christian organization so they won’t have a fully Christian viewpoint, but then many Christians have a wrong view of sex.
Kirk: “I’m sure this was a bit tongue in cheek (I hope!) but I think it comes across as insensitive and shortsighted at best.”
Not really tongue in cheek at all. It is insensitive because people don’t like thinking that decisions have consequences.
I forget who said it, but the natural process of aging, losing hair, muscle deterioration has nothing to do with what I am saying. I don’t believe in cosmetic surgeries. There is something beautiful about a couple who uses their marriage as a picture of the gospel regardless of looks.
My point was that the false dichotomy between looking good or prov 31 is nonsense.
