Exiting pastor saddles church with odd worship leader

Just have “buba” lead in the official service - which start at 5:30 AM every Sunday morning.

The new assistant music leader will lead the secondary service at 11:00 AM. Even if you just had someone volunteer for two years - there you go!

ps - this actually is hilarious on a few levels. Apparently the leaving pastor wanted to make some kind of a point to someone - I hope that someone got the message!

ppss - no this is awful - if you have to pay the guy the two year salary and then have a volunteer do the music - anything but this!

Joel, you do know this is not real, right? Just checking.

  • What would Scott Aniol think?
  • And …. the solution … change his job description to make caring for the grounds the responsibility of the music director

Greg,

I had that thought in the back of my head - too good to be true! It is really too bad - this would have been a fantastic addition to the 2nd edition of my book on decision-making. Later Greg!

I like Joel’s solution, though… the 5:30 part. Throw in Jim’s amendment of the worship leader duties… (or maybe better yet: “The worship leader shall not perform his platform duties until he has removed all red koolaid stains from the fellowship hall carpet.” That alone would take two years.) But Joel’s early service is elegant. They should write a followup “story” on how the clever new pastor worked things out.
