I would only change the wording to say conservatism shows a strong affinity with biblical principles.

Why is it that my voice always seems to be loudest when I am saying the dumbest things?

I would have said “The Bible shows a strong affinity with modern Conservativism.”

I could go along with 19th century political Liberalism.

Hoping to shed more light than heat..

There is a slight anachronism problem… or at least a seeming anachronism problem in the wording. There wasn’t something called conservativism when the Bible was written so how could the Bible be supportive of it?

But the key word is “called.” So what I had in mind w/the questions is the essential ideas.

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.

I would say that I am conservative, and therefore I see the Bible as supporting my political beliefs. I have liberal friends who would say that the Bible confirms their beliefs as well.

No wisdom, no understanding, and no counsel will prevail against the LORD. Proverbs 21:30

If two people think the Bible supports their views, and their views are opposite, can they both be right? Must they both be wrong? Maybe each partly right?

I’ve met liberals who aren’t wrong about everything. But it seems that the bigger the question is, the further from biblical ways of thinking their answers tend to be.
