My preferred candidates for GOP nomination (with user Poll)

Just read a review of Nikki Haley’s weekend townhall with CNN. She said some encouraging things.

At the moment, these are the candidates I’d like to see get the GOP nomination, in order of preference:

  1. Tim Scott
  2. Mike Pence
  3. Nikki Haley
  4. Chris Christie
  5. Ron DeSantis

A certain former President is intentionally omitted from any position on my list.

Is the U.S. right to leave Afghanistan?

Note to our overseas participants: “We” below is a first person plural referring to your truly, fellow Americans, and military allies.

************

We fought a war in Vietnam, pulled out, and left our allies there in the lurch, it seemed.

It seems like we entered Afghanistan uninvited to eliminate its use as a terrorist base, supported a non-Taliban government, and now are seeing slaughters and the return of leaders who will nurture terrorists.

Am I missing something?

Should the U.S. work toward becoming buddies with Russia/Putin?

Several of President-elect Donald Trump’s appointments are noted for their pro-Russian sympathies, and President-elect Trump has himself expresses a level of admiration for Vladimir Putin.

Should the U.S. work at creating a bond with Russia/Putin? Might we be more influential as friends than as adversaries?

Adding the discussion, you might comment on “should the US become less involved with NATO and the EU?”

Have Donald Trump's Lewd Comments Changed How You Will Vote?

We all know that Trump’s recording has hit the media, and that many supporters are changing or considering changing their voting intentions. Were you affected? If you were not going to vote for him and still are not, then you would be unaffected.

If the election were held today, who would you PROBABLY or definitely vote for in the presidential election?

It’s early, and a lot can change before November: scandals, deaths, new candidates, etc.

How would you probably or definitely vote if the election were today?

I am working hard to make it impossible to choose “other.” But, if you do, please let me know how you wormed out of one of these answers.

Are you considering voting for a third party candidate?

There is a lot of talk about Christians examining the Constitution Party or the Libertarian Party as possible voting choices. Assuming it is Trump Vs. Clinton (and it is too early to assume that for certain, but we will assume this for purposes of this poll), what are your thoughts about voting 3rd party? A wasted vote? A statement? A possible win?
