Who is your favorite preacher? Maybe he preached a sermon you have always remembered. Maybe he died long ago and you have only read his sermons. He may have pastored a small country church and none of us have ever heard of him. I know all these men are only servants of God, mere vessels. But I like good preaching and I would like to know who the good preachers are in your eyes. If you can not narrow your list to one; give me a top 5. There are no right or wrong answers to this question, only opinions and we all have a couple of those.

For me, listening to preaching is kinda’ like reading. I read for what I am interested in, and what I’m in the mood for. That probably doesn’t sound good on the surface, but what I mean is that sometimes I need encouragement, or maybe I want to clear some cobwebs in the book of Acts or Ezekiel. Some preachers definitely have the nostalgia factor and bring back happy memories.

The last four men all spoke at the same BJU Bible Conference one year. I took a few days off that year and had my own little “retreat.” It was an enormous blessing and had a great impact on my spiritual life.

Putting fun in Fundamentalist.
I have a top three:
Dr. Mark Minnick - he can preach for an hour and a half and I am not ready for him to be finished.
Dr. Tim Jordan - his in-your-face style (in-a-good-way) and his ability to make me think outside of my box yet still in God’s box is very refreshing
Dave Doran - his knowledge of Scripture, fundamentalism, and religious trends coupled with his ability to package his thoughts in such a logical way feeds my soul like few others even attempt
Honorable mentions that I listen to but with caution: John MacArthur, Ray Comfort, and some British speaking guy who’s name I cannot remember

I’m a little surprised no one has mentioned James Montgomery Boice, former pastor of 10th Presbyterian. I really enjoyed listening to him whenever I could catch his messages. I also like CJ Mahaney.

E.V. Hill,Tony Evans, and James Ford are some of my favorites. Allister Begg is good. Pastor Ed Vasicek is a very good preacher too. I sat under his ministry for nine years. My pastor while at Moody, John Taylor wasn’t the greatest preacher but I still remember a lot of his sayings. Several times he would say to the congregation, “You people come in here and sing the songs and when I look at your faces you look like you’ve been baptized in pickle juice.” I’ll never forget the people’s faces when he would say it. They got the point. It’s time to enjoy your salvation.
Don't be a great pastor, just be a pastor and let history judge for itself.

[Jimmy Anderson] I have enjoyed all the lists. Some names I recognize, some not so much. Like, who is this Camping guy? Anyway here are my top five:Camping is Harold Camping, who just deceived thousands of people with the prophecy that Christ would return on May 21. He is (was?) President of Family Radio International, a chain of radio stations. If you search SI, you should find a couple threads on him and his prophesy.
Camping’s name is being thown out as a joke…unless someone wants to admit to enjoying listening to heresy? Any takers out there?

My wife asked me why I put the Camping comment in there. It was just an attempt at a poorly exicuted joke. I would like to think that those that were following this “man’s” teachings have returned to the true word of God. Have a blessed day.
