I don’t personally see much hope for the whole government-operated education system. Once you embrace a sep. of church and state model that requires excising the country’s religious heritage, you are pretty much committed to a course that must end in total secularism.

In our own community there is still a fair amount of open Christianity. The small town schools are very much centers of community and the community is still mostly Lutheran and Catholic. But it’s just a matter of time. The course was charted long ago and every state school in the US is going to sail there eventually (unless something pretty huge changes).

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.
