Let’s Talk about Cremation–Theologically

“Christians (and others) who think burial is somehow more consistent with resurrection are simply confused—about both buried (or entombed) bodies and about resurrection bodies. With very, very few exceptions, buried bodies eventually decay, rot, even liquify.” - Roger Oleson

What if the person requested cremation before they died, and the family wanted to show love and loyalty by honoring those wishes?

I believe that showing love and loyalty to God by burying the bodies of deceased humans takes precedence over any wishes of humans, whether they are family or not. I would not agree to carry out any such wishes and would explain to the family member from Scripture why such wishes are not pleasing to God.
