Change is a big issue because it can be for better or worse — or better than some and worse for others.

The hard thing is to teach people to stop thinking, “What do I want?” and to start asking, “What is in the best interest of the church and its mission?”

Some people are so stubborn and exact such a price when they don’t get their way, that, when they die, people think, “well, we can at least do what we have wanted to do for quite some time.” I would hate to be remembered as an obstacle. But such folks are so remembered, but they are clueless.
