Nassar’s post-conviction behavior is reprehensible, but what it really is is a set of standard appeals to his convictions. If you are—like me—offended, the only real course is to start doing the work to hold lawyers accountable when they make nonsense claims in court. I believe it’s technically feasible—there are ethics clauses in legal certifications and all—but for obvious reasons, there would be a LOT of pushback from the legal profession if one punished Nassar’s attorneys (or others) for spreading manure in court (rhetorically speaking).
