Christian radio personality 'Uncle Charlie' dies: 'Knowing Jesus is the most important thing'

Charlie VanderMeer is the person my Dad credits for steering him to BJU for college back in the 1950’s when he was a teenager in Grand Rapids, MI.
My youngest daughter (who is 12) is singing in a special children’s choir that is being put together by one of the former singers from the Children’s Bible Hour Choir (from the 1970’s) at Uncle Charlie’s Funeral next week. Over the years, especially some 20 or so years ago, I ran into Uncle Charlie a few times at ministry conferences and missionary conferences in the Grand Rapids area. He was humble guy, he loved Jesus, and he loved to share the gospel of Jesus with everyone, especially kids.
