Kids leave church because the church is “relevant.”

“It’s not that our students ‘got smarter’ when they left home; rather, someone actually treated them as intelligent. Rather than dumbing down the message, the agnostics and atheists treat our youth as intelligent and challenge their intellect with “deep thoughts” of question and doubt.” - C.Leaders

All too often, our teaching is simplistic legalism that simply doesn’t stand up when challenged. I was teaching kids in Sunday School last Sunday, and when I asked them what they could learn from the Bible, it was all what they should and should not do. OK, that’s fine as far as it goes, but reality is that misses the far greater point of “who is Jesus?” and “how do we get to know God?”
