Apart from the necessity of visiting members when they are ill or in need, what does visitation look like? My first church expected the pastor to make social calls to every family unit “regularly”. A practice I’ve seen that I like and seems to be practical is for a pastor to visit all the community/shepherding groups in the church.

Regular social contact by a pastor with members is necessary and beneficial.
