Mitt Romney: “Robert Jeffress says ‘you can’t be saved by being a Jew,’ and ‘Mormonism is a heresy from the pit of hell.’ He’s said the same about Islam. Such a religious bigot should not be giving the prayer that opens the United States Embassy in Jerusalem”

When politicians try to be theologians ….

If Mitt carefully examined Mormon doctrine, he would know Jeffress is lost (from their perspective)

NewKinda refreshing, actually...

….to finally see Romney get excited about something. One would have assumed that he was a “Vulcan” under that skin.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.

Romney did his time as a missionary (I believe), before the Mormon Church began it’s gradual (and still on-going) descent and actually cared about it’s “doctrines.” I’m certain he’s well aware of what Jeffress means, and has encountered strong and reasoned opposition from evangelical Christians during his missionary period, and has strong exclusivistic feelings of his own about his own false religion. This remark is nothing more than a play for his base in Utah, in conjunction with his troubled Senate candidacy.

Tyler is a pastor in Olympia, WA and works in State government.
