As a former Christian School Administrator I’ve lost count of the students who were sent to my office on disciplinary matters and told me that they “needed to get saved”–-a conditioned response from their environment. There was one, a Christian school graduate whom John may know, who was a great “repenter” and would tearfully confess his sins and Sunday walk the aisle of his church and enjoy the temporary absolution from consequences that came with his actions. He eventually “confessed” his way into a hard prison term.

Some may have already picked up on this, but Mr. Bean and I know each other because he was my mom’s boss for a while. (and I referred to him as “Mr. Bean” in this comment out of deference to his past place of authority at my school)
