Evangelical Identity and Its Crises

Evangelicalism has much more to worry about than ‘surviving’ President Trump. The problems were deep and wide long before Trump ran for president.

I believe Franklin Graham best addresses the question of why so many Evangelicals support Trump, despite his certifiably un-Christian behavior. It’s because he’s the strongest public proponent of the value of Christianity for the health of America, in addition to being the strongest proponent of religious liberty of any US President of recent origen. You may not like his life-style, but you have to appreciate his defense of Christians. Christians have been feeling growing antagonism from many directions for several years. They appreciate a bold public defender. He “puts his money where his mouth is” in his official decisions and appointments. That’s refreshing.
