But seriously, I think the article is overstated. Most of the country, as far as I can tell, didn’t know or care about Osteen until some careless words suggested his church was callous to the needy. And as a progression of televangelists and prosperity hucksters would beg to tell us, a lot of us love our prosperity theologians. One might even suggest that we elected one last November.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
