Why Are Christians Such Hypocrites?

Because they are humans.

Why is it that my voice always seems to be loudest when I am saying the dumbest things?

I readily admit that I am a hypocrite at many times and in many ways. That being said I wonder if churches were better at discipleship and discipline if the world might have a little less ammo?

I wonder if anyone ever challenged Hitchens on his argument that people who think they have absolute truth feel superior, etc. My response would be that anyone who believes truth of any sort is superior to anyone who does not on that point, and that Hitchens et. al. do in fact believe this. For example, watch the Ham-Nye debate and tell me Nye doesn’t feel superior. But in a way he should. It has to do with the nature of truth. If you hold that “truth” exists at all, you have to hold that it’s better to believe it than to believe the alternative. And Nye is convinced he has the truth — humans just about always feel superior in that situation.

Does anyone think that a person who believes he is a giant rabbit is equal in that respect to a person who knows he is not?

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.

I like their idea about an outreach opportunity (last paragraph); though not a pub as the meeting place! I have often pondered something similar, and wondered if anybody would come.

I Timothy 1:15, “This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief”

The world does not expect us to be perfect. We aren’t! Admit it! Tell them often that Christ saves sinners like me! Repent and entrust yourself to the Savior and Lord!
