Which Spanish Version?

I can not read or speak Spanish, but I know a lot of people who do and they don’t know the Lord. I would like to purchase them a Bible in their language that is reliable. Do any of you know anything about the Spanish versions?
the http://www.amazon.com/Santa-Biblia-Reina-Valera-Spanish/dp/075890763X] Reina Valera Gomez Santa Biblia . In the interest of full disclosure, I know Bro. Humberto Gomez personally, so my opinion is not without bias in that regard.
The Reina Valera 1960 is the standard in fundamentalist churches I have visited in South America. The RV has been updated many times in the last 20 years or so, but I can’t speak to them as knowledgeably. The 1909 would read closer to the KJV (though it is increasingly difficult to find) and the 1960 reads more like the NASB or ESV.
The NVI is also common in Spanish evangelical churches, though not as common in fundamentalist churches. It is essentially the Spanish NIV.
I’ve noticed though that versions are generally not given the same weight in South American churches - especially once the church is pastored by a national.
