Interracial marriages at an all-time high, study says.

I’m not a Millenial (I’m Gen-Xer), but I’d say that my generation has very little problem with interracial marriages.

During a bible study recently, I was shocked by an (older) woman’s comment that was not supportive of interracial marriages. Her comment was not ugly or mean, but I was shocked because I’d forgotten how many older people view this issue since it’s such a non-issue for my peers.

I too, am glad this is becoming less of an issue — I don’t believe in “race” as a concept anyway.

An issue much bigger than skin color (which to me is meaningless) is dealing with differences in thinking between two different cultures. I deal with that to some extent myself, since I married a non-U.S. citizen, albeit one from a westernized European country, and one of my “race.” When many of your presuppositions are different, you need to work harder at agreement.
