Coral Ridge To Vote This Sunday on Whether or Not to “Amicably” Dissolve Relationship With New Pastor
Hi all,
Am I misreading (not only this article but the others on the subject) or is the main issue that Tullian is not as involved in political causes as Dr. Kennedy was?

I’m almost sure that Kennedy’s daughter was on the search committee for the church. She is in charge of Coral Ridge Ministries which continues to broadcast Dr. Kennedy’s preaching. Perhapst if the new pastor cuts down on the political emphasis it will hurt Coral Ridge Ministries. I guess she got buyer’s regret pretty quickly.
Jonathan,
I think this is an interesting issue. I am 38. Many believers that are older than I am, but a much bigger emphasis on political issues. I have had conversations with some believers older than me that are just appalled that many of us younger people don’t hold as much stock in politics. I am personally politically active, but I have no desire to do it in the church any longer. Some people believe we are compromising. I wonder if this is coming into play at Coral Rige?

I’ve not studied the issue, but I don’t recall seeing in the Bible any indication that Jesus and the disciples made any great effort to change the politics of their day. Rather they seemed more concerned with reaching individuals, which I think would in turn influence that person’s politics in a positive way. Maybe the folks at Coral Ridge have been conditioned to the political emphasis and naturally assume a church must take a more noticeable role in politics?
