Let us pray biblically for persecuted believers!

Romans 15:30 Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; 31 That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints.

When praying for missionaries and other believers, we should do what this passages teaches us Paul did for himself and asked others to do for him: Paul himself prayed to God for himself that he would “be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea” (who continually sought to attack him), and he asked others to pray “together with [him: ” for the same thing!

Praying for the physical safety/deliverance of persecuted believers is biblical. Let us pray regularly for God to deliver our brethren who are being persecuted around the world!
