Book for a teenager on critical thinking

Forum category
I am looking for a book to go through w/ my teenage son that teaches critical thinking skills. Does anyone have any recommendations? I have found quite a few on Amazon, but didn’t want to order anything sight unseen.

[Susan R] I really like critical thinking resources from Critical Thinking Press. For a Christian perspective on worldviews, is terrific.
I agree with Susan about the former source (I haven’t used the latter). We started homeschooling when my younger was in 5th grade, and my older was in 7th. I used the last in their series of Building Thinking Skills for the 5th grader, and Critical Thinking Book 1 for the 7th. Now, the older is almost finished with Critical Thinking Book 2 and the younger is almost finished Book 1. These have been excellent tools. I have at least one other book from this company as well, but the “Critical Thinking” series has gotten the most use.

Critical Thinking is my favorite class to teach, because I tell both kids that unlike with History, Math, etc., I don’t consider any answer wrong in this class if they can argue and support it well. The object for me isn’t to get to a single right answer, but to see how they reason it out. They get enough of the other in their regular curriculum. Some of the review questions in later sections make them go back and refute answers they gave in an earlier section. They really don’t like to do that if they think they picked the “right” side the first time, but it’s a really good exercise for them.
