There are no “campuses” in Scripture
I often love what Mars Hill is doing, and their teaching. I think they’re effectively reaching the lost in Seattle. (In the firing squad session that ensues, I’ll just note that I will not have a cigarette before I am shot…)
I don’t really like the idea of “one church, many campuses.” But what seems almost worse to me, as far as polity goes, is “one organizational structure and (mainly) one preacher but many churches.” It seems like Mars Hill is going in the direction of an SGM structure at the same moment SGM is imploding after years of the same messed up polity. I’ve never been more convinced that the independent church model is best than right now.
