"Will people believe us when we speak about the One who brings life and that abundantly, when they see that we don’t care about that which kills and destroys?"
Russ Moore’s linkage of ecological disaster to abortion is probably the beginning of a recognized movement within Evangelicalism to link murder of a person with “murder” of an environment.
Moore’s view of the earth as a trinitarian theater is over-the-top emotive. After all, the knowledge of the Trinity comes by special, not general, revelation.
Because Moore has no room for a renewed earth in a future millennium in his theology, his tears are all the more important to him as as a call to evangelical action.
He won’t be around for it, but if he thinks this is bad, wait until he sees what Jesus does to ecology in the coming tribulation.
