"A group for women who say they are addicted to pornography is new territory."

I have read that about 25% of pornography addicts are women. I have also read that many women watch pornography to find out what their men want. I think it is great to have such Christian ministries and support groups, but I think discretion is important. People do not come to church to hear about pornography or alcoholism or drug addiction. It’s not that we never mention such things, but sometimes church is an escape from all that and a focus on God and His Word. So there is a balance somewhere between denial and focus on addictions for most of our churches. I suppose some churches do specialize in addiction help; it might be simply that God calls different congregations to specialized ministries.

In my mind, an inter-church group might be the best way to handle addictions so that no one church gets branded “the pornography church” or the “druggie church.”
