Obama announces change in contraception coverage rule after outcry
“Religious organizations won’t have to pay for these services, and no religious institution will have to provide these services directly.” “The change would allow religious organizations to refuse to cover contraceptive care. It would also require insurers to offer a plan that does not include contraceptive care in their contracts with nonprofit religious groups. But the insurers would be required to make contraception available free of charge to women anyway.”Related

Writing at http://www.catholicvote.org/discuss/index.php?p=26487&utm_source=dlvr.i…] CatholicVote.org , Tom Crowe was not satisfied with the compromise: “If the religious institution is being required to pay for an insurance plan that subsidizes the insurance company’s efforts to proactively spread information about obtaining contraceptives, and then also pays for the contraceptives, that still means the church is being required to subsidize services and items it deems morally repugnant. The church’s money would still be used to support gravely immoral activity.”
"Our task today is to tell people — who no longer know what sin is...no longer see themselves as sinners, and no longer have room for these categories — that Christ died for sins of which they do not think they’re guilty." - David Wells
Yeah, it’s a mess. Best to get gov’t out of the health care biz entirely.
