What Shouldn’t Oughter

Would we have seen tears and protests if Hillary had won the Electoral vote and Trump won the popular vote???

Protests? No! Because the system worked “correctly” of course!!!

Tears? You bet! Tears of joy, of ecstasy, while they are enraptured in their Nirvana.

The teddy bear and play-dough toting snowflakes (many of whom didn’t even vote) protesting to change the Electoral College system do realize in another election the outcome could be the reverse … . .

right??

Of course Democrats are inconsistent on this. And of course, Republicans would be just as inconsistent and absurd if the roles were reversed. Don’t forget that many of the Republicans supporting Trump in spite of his sexual escapades were the ones saying a few decades ago that Clinton’s sexual problem disqualified him from the White House.

Very true. But tu quoque.

If this were a debate and that was my way of attacking the author’s argument, yes it would be a logical fallacy. But I am not debating. I am merely pointing out some hypocrisy and absurdity.

For those of us in Wisconsin, this is nothing new. You might recall the protests at the state Capitol that sometimes amassed tens of thousands of angry liberals and persisted for months after the Republican governor and legislature passed a law affecting collective bargaining rights for state workers. The fact that it cost the state hundreds of thousands of dollars in cleaning and repair costs to the capitol building and put conservative legislators in uncomfortable and sometimes dangerous positions didn’t matter to those “tolerant” and “compassionate” lefties. Since the Republicans in state government held their ground, the protests only served to expose the liberals’ inherent instability and further strengthen the conservative will in this state.
Get ready for the same thing to happen across the country. It’s just another day in Wisconsin.
