D.L. Moody - Zeal Without Knowledge?

Was Moody well-intentioned and sincere, but ignorant of theology? Did he have zeal without knowledge

My understanding, although I may remember it incorrectly, was that he had something like a second work of grace in his theology. Possibly Keswick. That begins said I really didn't think the article was very good. It made what I consider to be a pretty weak argument. 

1)make point about someone that is bad

2)illustrate point with someone else that is really bad

3)lead reader to make connection between the two

David Cloud does it a lot.
