OK, so I read both parts of his posts, but it looks (through the haze of snarkiness) like his solution to the problem of living in ignorance and contempt of etc is to embrace non-Protestant Christianity, complete with a magisterium. His dismissal of the authority of scripture, in particular, does not encourage me that he has a wonderful way out of the problem of ignorance and contempt.

Maybe I’m missing something here?
