Curriculum Publishers Tweak Doctrine in Materials to Appeal to Evangelical, Catholic Markets

When I came to my present pastorate 11 years ago, I had my first opportunity to look over the offerings of various VBS publishers. I was familiar with Regular Baptist Press. But not so much with Lifeway, Group, Gospel Light, David C Cook, etc. What surprised me was that, out of 5 lessons given for a week of VBS, most publishers did not have a salvation lesson. I didn’t look at David C Cook, but except for RBP and Lifeway, the VBS materials of others were moralistic but not evangelistic. The worst one I looked over was Veggie Tales-gag!
