First Baptist Church of Hammond to vote on John Wilkerson on Sunday

[Julie Anne] It must be noted that Wilkerson has been part of this system.

I fear that sometimes “the system” or “the network” is used naively and disingenuously. I mean one wouldn’t expect that they would get a grad from TEDS or Central Seminary! So here’s the question: Can FBC do anything right? Will critics (and I’ve been one of them) ever recognize positive change at FBC?

I don’t know hardly anything about John Wilkerson from Long Beach other than what I have read here, but as far as I know his ministry has been scandal-free. Is it possible that he is a good choice? Will be an effective Pastor? AND that this is a positive direction?

Perhaps John Wilkerson is both a good fit (because he is a grad of HAC and he matches doctrinally.) And perhaps he will be able to turn the FBC ship around and bring it to the place where it reflects NT Biblical Christianity. We’ll have to wait and see.

It does take time to recognize, identify and treat systemic problems and they are normally accomplished over time and not in one instant so I agree room must be given. Wilkerson is KJVonly which to me will limit remedy but it won’t prevent it in some critical areas.
