Ann Coulter: On Tiger, Brit Hume. Cites John 3:16, Romans 6:23, and Ephesians 2:8
Can’t argue with this…
[Coulter] Is Buddhism about forgiveness? Because, if so, Buddhists had better start demanding corrections from every book, magazine article and blog posting ever written on the subject, which claims Buddhists don’t believe in God, but try to become their own gods. I can’t imagine that anyone thinks Tiger’s problem was that he didn’t sufficiently think of himself as a god
Or this…
[Coulter] given the reaction to his [Hume’s] remarks, apparently one has to be a regular New Testament scholar to have so much as a passing familiarity with the basic concept of Christianity.
Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.

I pray seekers will see the precious truths of Christ and that the foolishness and dross (ie I don’t consider myself to be “every bit as much a Christian as the pope”) fall away.

And we had some discussion about it here: http://sharperiron.org/filings/6-9-09/7435
I’m not sure how new it is, though. Though I have not had a really good cross section to go by, it seems that outside the fundamentalist tradition, there was kind of a void (in 20th century) of sensitivity about “the world” which may not have resulted in really big observable differences in behavior at the time, but in the new cultural landscape, the void is exposed. (Not that fundamentalist teaching on “the world” has been really excellent, but nobody can deny that we have had a high level of sensitivity to the subject of how we are to not conform to the world).

Christianity is also the hardest religion in the world because, if you believe Christ died for your sins and rose from the dead, you have no choice but to give your life entirely over to Him. No more sexual promiscuity, no lying, no cheating, no stealing, no killing inconvenient old people or unborn babies — no doing what all the other kids do.BTW, other than the Pope comment and the low-church emphasis, I quite enjoyed the piece.

Whether you are a liberal or a conservative, selective Christians who simply heed the portions of the Bible that they like while ignoring the rest are not Christians at all.
I think ‘selective’ Christian describes the average Christian, and honestly compels us to admit that we all do this to some degree. Thank goodness most of us will never do it on national television.
I am not quite sure what you mean. Can you ellaborate? i don’t listen or read to Ann alot, so before I comment I would like to know what you mean specifically.

Is it the way I would do it? No. Can I rejoice in it, and pray someone will come to Christ because of it? Most certainly! Thanks for pointing it out SI!
