Southern Baptists, at impasse, postpone vote on sex abuse probe for a week

Discussion

The EC members who have voted no on this are in effect saying that yes, their committee and their lawyers have indeed addressed some issues of sexual assault in the SBC where some might be embarrassed, or the SBC might even be found liable.

Numbers 32:23 comes to mind here. Praying that the EC will pull off the band-aid here, because if they keep stonewalling, they’ve got the very nature of SBC congregational government against them.

Side note; this is a great example of how congregational church polity can help deal with this kind of issue. Hopefully the EC does its homework and remembers they’re not a college of cardinals.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
