Gundry keeps heading downward. Since he does not think that the Wisemen (Magi) episode actually occurred (and it is only mentioned in Matthew), why does he depend upon Matthew to come up with this novel view?

The Gospel according to Matthew, generally agreed to be primarily based on the recollections of St. Peter, conclusively argues that Peter was a heretic, according to Gundry.
