“According to China Aid … personnel of the religious affairs bureau and the police raided the Olive Tree Church’s Sunday worship service on the morning of July 10. The officials took pictures of the congregation, confiscated church property, banned their church meetings, sealed the church doors and then took away 30 of its members to the police station.” ChristianTimes

IMO, the thing that we need to remember is that 20 years back, the idea that house churches would own property at all and operate somewhat openly would have been laughed it, no? So paradoxically, this is clear evidence of progress—and it may not be reversible. If you start re-installing the complete police state, you are going to have serious trouble with the foreign corporations who are manufacturing there. It’s not that IBM and such are all about the Gospel, but rather that there is only so much harassment that their people are going to put up with.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
