Theologizers and the Anti-Seminary
Theologizers and the Anti-Seminary
“American seminaries languish. Thus, the streams which should feed and guide the theologically curious are insufficient. Making matter worse, social norms encourage more trust in the internet than in the Bride of Christ.
Instead, seekers look to ecclesiastically untethered and academically undisciplined smooth talkers for spiritual guidance and insight. Welcome to the Anti-Seminary.”

There have always been lots of alternatives for the theologically curious… and there weren’t even such things as seminaries for centuries. Several of the apostles had to deal with the problem of itinerant teachers who carried false doctrine with them.
What’s new I suppose is that relative to the hay day seminaries and Bible colleges enjoyed in the mid to late 20th century, yes, there appears to be a general decline.
Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.
