Ministries Evacuate as Russians Reach Irpin, the Evangelical Hub of Ukraine

“Churches in the ‘Wheaton of Ukraine,’ a suburb of Kyiv, help residents escape war as one member gives his life trying to save a fleeing family.” - C.Today

More reason to pray those imprecatory Psalms, I guess. One thing that comes to mind is that I’ve been looking at pictures of destroyed Russian armored vehicles in Bucha—adjacent to Irpin—for about a week now. So that’s how slowly the Russian advance is moving—at a rate similar to that in trench warfare in WWI. Yes, the resistance is stout, but I’m thinking the Russian infantry is not exactly motivated to move forward to meet more of the Ukrainians.

Worse yet for the Russians, I believe the Ukrainians have destroyed the main bridges towards Kyiv, and if and when they cross the river or canal towards Kyiv, they get to go through a few miles of basically green belt, heavily wooded, before they get to the first ring suburbs of Kyiv. Spring thaw and weeks for the Simo Hayhas of the Ukrainian army to dig in with their Javelins will make that trip memorable for any Russians unlucky enough to try to make it.

Pray, again, for Putin and his minions to be taken out. Too many innocent people on both sides will suffer if they aren’t.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.

I’ve always thought the Russians would run into problems as the Ukrainians remembered the stories their grandparents told of fighting the Nazis and Fascists during the Great Patriotic War. Now they get to do the same.

Hoping to shed more light than heat..
