Can a vote for Trump be morally justified?

“In the end, though, it may all come down to this: a vote for Trump is, more than anything, a vote against Harris. So, we can vote for Trump without being enamored by him, without being his defenders or apologists, and without being unrealistic in our expectations.” - Michael Brown

It's about reminding Christians that though they may want to vote for him as the lesser of two evils, there is a danger in embracing Trump and his whole persona.

But the people of my congregation are already saying that to each other, so why should I take time away from the preaching of God's word and prayer to harp on it from the pulpit? Some of you act as if this is the most important issue for the Christian walk and life. I would argue that if we are teaching the whole counsel of God, then the people will be much more able to address the myriad of issues that they will have to face as Christians. When we constantly ride hobby horses our congregations will be deprived of so much that will equip them for living a consistent Christian life.

so why should I take time away from the preaching of God’s word and prayer to harp on it from the pulpit?

Doesn’t ‘harping on it’ imply a lot of repetition? I don’t think anyone is recommending that. It needs attention, probably more than once, but there is space between “more than once” and “harping.”

… and I really doubt everybody in the congregation is really seeing straight on that point either. But should we be wary of overemphasis? For sure.
