....enforce the laws we have? For as long as I can remember, the NRA has been an open advocate of programs like "Project Exile", which is very simple and almost free. What it does is to direct federal prosecutors to prioritize open and shut cases where a convicted felon is caught in possession of a firearm. When it's been tried, it quickly reduces crime because an awful lot of crime is committed by people who've done time.

For whatever reason, the pro-gun-control left is against this, and in that light, it's not unreasonable for gun rights advocates to conclude that gun control advocates are not about safety, but rather ending gun rights.
