Lesson learned: One family can blackmail an entire community into compliance with an expensive lawsuit.

Isn’t that just peachy.

How appropriate:

Tyler is a pastor in Olympia, WA and works in State government.

How appropriate:

Would you / do you have Sallman’s Head of Christ:

  • In your home? (Me … nope!)
  • In your church? (Ditto!)

I would much prefer “Grace” which is the official Minnesota State picture. We have a copy displayed in our dining room.

I am from Washington, where they’re debating mandating insurance companies to cover abortions. I have no pride left …

It isn’t about the picture necessarily. The picture was donated to the school in 1947. It was considered by most in the community as a piece of the history of the school/community.

I think it is also interesting that the community was overwhelmingly in favor of keeping it, but the school didn’t want to use taxpayer funds to pay for the lengthy litigation process.
