"None of those black-on-white atrocities made anywhere near the news that the Trayvon Martin case made, and it's deliberate."
The statistics of black on white violence crime is a shame that those who profess to speak in terms of “black community” appear to ignore. It stands in stark contrast their claims of white oppression and a culture of racism. When whites are well over 200 million in America and blacks are 35-40 million (estimates) yet black on white crimes are absurdly high with a white being, as I have read, up to 100 times likely to be a victim of crime by a black than a black by a white, there is something seriously wrong and not reported by the various media who claim to care about real social issues.
I suspect that “black on white” crime incidents occurring more frequently than “white on black” incidents is an artifact of the higher crime rate in general among young urban blacks.
The black community will have to get a handle on their own crime rate for their own well-being.
A great commentary on this is available from a rather liberal political source http://www.cnn.com/2012/04/11/opinion/granderson-violence-race/index.ht…] here .

Unfortunately statistics bear out that it is not merely artifactual. If it were then there would be a greater consistency with all crimes. However what occurs is that certain kinds of crimes by blacks against whites spike while others, though disproportional do not spike. An example of this is rapes of white women by blacks. White women in this case are far greater in targeted victims than say property crimes which speaks to something far greater than artifactual numbers. There is and has been certain crimes by black against whites that show significant increases from what might be artifactual numbers though they remain disproportional overall.
