Bowlderizing John Stott

I own the 2011 edition, and was planning to read it soon.

Tyler is a pastor in Olympia, WA and works in State government.

I think they mean “bowdlerizing.” “Bowlderizing” sounds like something you’d do with a big rock.

Hey, it’s the title the author used … !

….that gender-neutering pronouns and such qualifies as bowdlerization these days. As for me, I’ve been bummed for a while that the version of Oswald Chambers’ My Utmost for His Highest was modernized. I received it around 1990, and it had only been written in what—1914 or so?

I’m not against modernizing things when they really need to be, but at a certain point, we’ve got to start questioning whether we’re a literate society or not.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.
