Calvinistic churches near BJU

My daughter is planning to attend BJU next fall and I was wondering what churches near campus might be in line with the doctrine of her home church. I realize that there probably isn’t a church that meets EVERY criteria, and they are not listed in order of importance, but we live 700 miles away so I’m looking for some recommendations of churches that might meet most of these.

World Mission focus, Gospel-centered, Fully Calvinistic, staunchly Baptist, traditional worship, New Covenant, Closed Communion, Amillenial or at least historic premillennial, family-integrated.

Thanks!

At the Summer Orientation for new students, Nathan Crockett held a session on how find a local church in the Greenville area. He handed out a list of dozens of possible churches and recommended that parents look over the list with their child, visit the various websites, and see which ones looked like the best possibilities. I think he would also be open to fielding questions if you had specific things you were looking for as non-negotiables.

I live in Greenville and find this question hard to answer. A couple of ideas to research:

You might look at Hampton Park. They have moved more towards the liberal position in music, alcohol, etc. They lost a lot of people, but also kept a lot of younger people. They are Calvinistic.

I don’t know if Mount Calvary is Calvinistic or not. Calvary Simpsonville’s new pastor is from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary so that may be a good one to try.

Morningside (where I go) is not Calvinistic and we do not have closed communion. We are premillenial and not New Covenant.

Hope this helps.

I’m confused by this term.

Historically (as I understand) it meant that only members of that local church could participate in communion. Other believers, who were visiting, could not participate.

Recently I heard it used as being closed to non-believers, which it is by default.

Which definition is being used above?

I’m referring to the historic definition. That “newer” definition is certainly new to me.

Thanks,

I would second Ron Bean’s suggestion of Grace Baptist. Another possibility would be Covenant Reformed Baptist Church in Easley, SC but it is a ways away from campus. Finally, I would consider Faith Free Presbyterian Church in Greenville. Although Presbyterian, most members and officers are credo baptists and it does have a world mission focus, is gospel-centered and fully Calvinistic, traditional worship and open to differing eschatological views. Definitely not family-integrated. Several BJU faculty and staff are members and officers.
