For reference: List of Trump supporters to make sure I don't support

Forum category

Found myself wishing there was a list somewhere of all the alleged evangelicals and alleged conservatives who are supporting Donald Trump, so I can make I do not support them.

The mess we are in due the failure of supposedly conservative leaders is inexcusable. The contribution of supposedly evangelical leaders is disgraceful.

I’ll probably still go to the polls and vote just to make sure I don’t cast a single vote that helps anyone who is defending Trump.

If you can add to the list, that would be much appreciated.

To some degree supporters can be identified by elimination. A piece in the Atlantic yesterday claims to list Republicans who don’t/no longer support Trump. But it also has quite a bit of history of backers.

Seems to be a bit out of date though, because it still has Fiorina as a Trump supporter. I suspect several of those below have quietly or not so quietly withdrawn support.

Supporters …. probably

Bob Dole
Trent Lott
John Boehner
Dick Cheney
Reince Priebus
Mike Huckabee
Rick Perry
Bobby Jindahl
Ben Carson
Rock Santorum
Herman Cain
Mitch McConnell

I’m afraid Paul Ryan still seems to be trying to have it both ways…

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.

Too many Christians can’t even see the obvious disaster of Hillary and her potential administration. They wring hands over the vulgarity of Trump, while ignoring Hillary’s sins.

Unfit for office is unfit for office. For conservatives, moderates—and relatively honest liberals even—Hillary’s sins are obvious. Trumps are obvious as well, but he’s supposed to be “our guy.” He’s supposed to be “better.” He is not. Hillary is consistent with what the left believes in. The alternative candidate, “our guy,” is supposed to be consistent with conservatism. He is not. The right should have never allowed him to even become a serious contender, much less nominate him. They did.

Hillary is irrelevant to the future of conservative principle and practice. “Our guy” is not.

I could go on, but this stuff is so obvious.

Some names to add to the Evangelicals Who Should Know Better:

It’s the sort of thing you do when you think someone has some points worth considering but you want to stop short of endorsing.

You are right, unfit for office is unfit for office.

IMHO opinion, in any normal evaluation, Hillary and Donald are both unfit for office. The problem is, in reality one of them WILL BE president.

Your vote is a choice between those two.

I reject them both. I cannot possibly support either of them. That’s the third option.
