James White’s scary 5 year prediction for the church

or who he’s affiliated with, but he’s absolutely right. Maybe not exactly the timeline or certain details, but you can clearly see it spiraling under our so-called “Christian” President.

Looks like he’s a fairly good thinker in the conservative evangelical area with ties to people like MacArthur. Maybe we’ll hear some more good things out of him in the future. He’s got an interesting view of the KJVO controversy out, too.

Aspiring to be a stick in the mud.

A Reformed Baptist, I believe. He used to be a Southern Baptist, I think he once taught at Golden Gate Seminary. I have a couple of his books, The King James Only Controversy and The Roman Catholic Controversy. He provides good material, but there are some oddities. He tends to be too argumentative, in my view, and perhaps a little sensationalistic. However, it doesn’t take much prescience to see that our culture is increasingly antagonistic to truth.

Jim, I have listened to those but I noticed they are not available online anymore. Use your vast amounts of clout to see that it gets done would ya.

Craig, do you deal anywhere with the couple of places where Erasmus had no Greek text and translated from the Vulgate? Wouldn’t that be a stronger “Catholic Connection?” Not trying to start a debate but I didn’t see it in the article you mention and I would like to know if you address it elsewhere.

He’s almost certainly off on ‘5 years’ for that. A very liberal Democrat would have to win the Whitehouse in 2016. This is possible, of course, but nothing is trending that way currently. But if we had leadership as far left as Obama at the top for another 8 years, it would probably happen. (Even then, you have to take into account the way Congress tends to shift toward the right whenever there is a strongly liberal leader in the Whitehouse, usually 2 to 6 yrs out of sync.)

As it is, I don’t personally see it happening in less than a decade.

Views expressed are always my own and not my employer's, my church's, my family's, my neighbors', or my pets'. The house plants have authorized me to speak for them, however, and they always agree with me.

Jim- Are you sure Dr. White spoke at BJU? I find that hard to believe but think it is great since James is an extremely sharp guy on a whole host of topics- Catholicism, Bible translations, Reformed history/theology. He has debated more RC than I believe any other living person.

I guess the other thing that would surprise me is James White is very Reformed….and from what I gather BJ is very non-reformed.
