I’ve been thinking about this sort of thing, and it occurs to me that if we really have a set of shared beliefs—a creed, the Solas, the Fundamentals, whatever—then we do not need a “Gospel Coalition” to serve as a clearing house for theology. We can simply evaluate it on its own merits.

And on a side note, it appears that TGC is really going off the rails, if they’re going to simply deny inerrancy. Given that contributors generally have a master’s or doctorate in theology, I can’t assume they’re dumb, but it would seem that they’ve lost contact with the basics, and why the authority of Scripture is pretty important. If that hypothesis isn’t true, I then have to assume they are wolves. Don’t want to go there.

I have experienced liberals in our church quoting TGC as justifying why the Bible is not inerrant. Serious problems here.

TGC people are not denying inerrancy in these articles. Just affirming that people who do can still be Christians……

To illustrate your point> “Declare that the Bible has errors” “Pull the trigger” “Declare that anyone who didn’t say ‘pull the trigger’ to the last question is going to hell.” “Don, put the gun down. Let’s take this to the SI forums instead of blowing my brains out.”
